Behaviour Expectations

A positive school community depends on shared values and mutual respect. These expectations apply to all pupils and to the families who partner with ISJ in their child's education. For the full policy framework, see the Behaviour Policy.

For Pupils

Be gentle, kind, and fair in all interactions.
Use respectful words. How something is said matters as much as what is said.
Include others. Look out for anyone who is alone or left out.
Listen carefully when others are speaking.
Tell the truth. Honesty builds trust.
Share resources and space considerately.
Work hard and take pride in the effort put into all tasks.
Take care of personal belongings and school property.
Bullying of any kind is not tolerated. This includes online behaviour.
Digital citizenship applies in and out of school. Technology is used responsibly and respectfully.
When mistakes happen, ISJ uses a restorative approach: pupils are supported to understand the impact of their actions and to make things right.

For Parents and Guardians

Reinforce ISJ's values at home. Children develop best when school and home are consistent.
Communicate with staff respectfully at all times, in person and in writing.
Ensure regular attendance and punctuality. Notify the school in advance of any planned absence.
Send pupils in correct uniform each day. Hair should be tidy; jewellery, makeup, and nail polish are not permitted.
Label all belongings clearly.
Collect pupils promptly at the end of the school day. Notify the school if someone other than the usual contact will be collecting.
Raise concerns directly with the school rather than through parent group chats. Group chats are not an appropriate channel for school matters.
Treat all members of the school community with courtesy. Staff, pupils, and other families all deserve a respectful environment.
